Gardening can certainly be a lot of work, so it’s important to sit back and remember to relax at the end of a hard day. Bonnie has just the recipe to help you put your feet up, and it’s something you can easily add to your own herb patch!

  • Chamomile, most commonly known for its tea, is a very versatile little plant with little daisy-like flowers that pop up in spring.
  • It’s a great companion plant for your vegetable garden as well as other spring-blooming herbs and flowers, plus, the bees love them!
  • Chamomile has endless benefits which include, improving your sleep, promoting digestive and heart health, boosting the immune system and reducing muscle spasms and stress.
  • To plant, it likes a nice sunny spot, in fertile, well-drained soil, and can tolerate the spring frost.
  • The flower and foliage are edible, and chamomile tea can be made from the blossoms once dried.
  • Bergamot (not to be confused with the citrus, bergamot orange) is an aromatic, perennial herb belonging to the mint family, and has a vibrant red flower in summer.
  • Traditionally used by the Native Americans, bergamot leaves were used in tea to help with digestion and as a mild pain relief. Studies have shown that its scent can help calm anxiety and depression.
  • Bergamot likes a mix of sun and shade, and a good water.
